Limitless Above the Clouds: Allie Pepper’s Mission to Summit Without Oxygen

Few can breathe the thin air above 8,000 meters—Allie Pepper is one of them. As Australia’s most accomplished female high-altitude mountaineer, Allie already has ten 8,000m peaks under her belt, with six achieved without supplemental oxygen. Now, she is embarking on one of the most demanding challenges in mountaineering: summiting all 14 of the world’s 8,000m peaks to their true summits, without oxygen—a feat only a handful of men have accomplished.

Her journey has been captured in the new film, Limitless Above the Clouds: 14 Peaks, No Oxygen, offering a rare and intimate look into the realities of high-altitude climbing. The film showcases the extreme physical and mental toll of pushing the human body to its absolute limits, the triumphs and setbacks that come with such an audacious goal, and the deep connection Allie has with the mountains.

But this project is about more than just mountaineering. Limitless Above the Clouds is a story of perseverance, resilience, and redefining the limits of what is possible. Through breathtaking cinematography and raw storytelling, the film highlights the inner strength required to take on this monumental challenge and aims to inspire others to chase their own dreams—one step at a time.

Beyond her mountaineering achievements, Allie has been working with Whippa to develop a pack built for the demands of extreme altitude. The result is the Alpine AP 50, an ultralight, purpose-built mountaineering backpack designed to withstand the brutal conditions above 8,000m while keeping weight to a minimum—because every gram matters when survival is on the line.
