Bouldermania is turning 5 this year and we couldn’t be prouder to continue to be a supporter of this awesome event. Bouldermania focuses on enjoyment for all climbers, as most competitions are highly stressful.
The Bouldermania team have been hard at work coming up with some fun activities with only those activities everyone thought made the event more unique remaining, the tag format comp the belt system, theme format, face-off system, physical test eliminators, costume comps, and much more.

“Bouldermania turns 5 this year and we couldn’t be prouder to see it come of age. Bouldermania was inspired by the long-established, great event held just north of us called Boulderfest. We didn’t just want to imitate though and so, in an effort to build on the shoulders of Australia’s biggest climbing competition Core began to look at how we could innovate and create something new. The main focus in all of this was enjoyment. Competitions can be stressful as climbers all work hard to be their very best and we wanted to reward that as much as possible while engaging the crowd and the competitor on multiple levels. In the months prior to starting, many ideas were put up and taken down with only those items everyone thought made the event more unique remaining, giving birth to many the tag format comp the belt system, theme format, face-off system, physical test eliminators, costume comps, and much more. This is reviewed each year as we learn and grow, but the core sentiment of enjoyment is always the priority initiative. So here we are at BM5 Looking for this year’s top dogs in a Wild West showdown on the wall. We are ever grateful that our community, sponsors, and team have helped make Bouldermania a one-of-a-kind gem in our climbing Calander.
