When you think of climbing in Australia, a few major destinations likely come to mind – Nowra, the Grampians, Arapiles, and the Blue Mountains. But what about the vast stretch of coastline between Campbelltown and Coolum? That’s the question legendary Aussie climber Ben Cossey set out to answer in Five Caves Five Days, a new film by The North Face and director Brecon Littleford.

The film follows Ben Cossey, joined by fellow crusher Lucy Stirling, as he hits the road in his van to explore the untapped climbing potential along the east coast. Over five days, he visits lesser-known crags in New South Wales and Queensland, guided by local climbers who share their hidden gems.

With a deep climbing resume that spans everything from V15 boulders and E8 solos to the recent first ascent of the Arapiles test piece Light Weight Baby (34/5.14c), Cossey brings experience and heart to every route. But this isn’t a story about grades… it’s about community, curiosity, and the joy of exploration beyond the usual tick list.

Five Caves Five Days has already toured climbing gyms across Australia and New Zealand, and is now available to stream on YouTube. For climbers who’ve ever wondered what’s out there between the big-name destinations, this film might just inspire your next road trip.
